We recently had a conversation with Steve Woodward, President of Centrada Solutions. Steve is a long-time friend and a former member of the Active Travel Advisory Board.

“Centrada Solutions provides a full range of Managed IT Services to the Hospitality Industry. We have more than 1,200 Hospitality clients throughout the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean. Centrada’s US based staff delivers 24×7 Help Desk Services, Consulting Services, Design Services, Security Services, Project Management, and Implementation Services.
The pandemic took us all by surprise. In typical Hospitality fashion, however, the industry quickly responded to the “new challenges” as they developed.
One example: This year Centrada will assist over 400 hotels with implementing contactless technologies like Mobile Key. Mobile Key allows guests to check-in with their mobile phones. The technology minimizes in-person interactions during check-in and reduces guest contact with physical items they don’t already have in their possession.
As hotel occupancy levels have begun to increase in recent weeks, we have seen two new challenges make an appearance: Difficulty recruiting staff and a spike in the number of ransomware/cyber-attacks. Both are also areas where IT Services can help. Outsourcing of IT Services and installation of specialized software that proactively monitors and addresses malicious activity before it becomes a problem can decrease hotel staffing levels, increase security, and potentially save hotels thousands of dollars per year!

About Steve Woodward
Steve Woodward, President of Centrada Solutions, is a 30-year hospitality veteran within depth experience in hotel operations and hospitality related technologies.
Steve co-founded Centrada Solutions in 2005 as an IT Consulting Group focused on assisting clients with making smart technology decisions to improve both efficiency and profitability. Since that time, Centrada has developed into the Hospitality industry’s leader of Outsourced IT Services for hotels, hotel owners, hotel management companies, and hotel brands. Centrada’s mission is simple: Provide the IT Services clients need, when they need them, at a reasonable price.
Prior to founding Centrada, Steve served as the Vice President of Distribution Technology at Wyndham International. In that position, he was responsible for the operation of Wyndham’s Central Reservation System, Property Management Systems, and all related systems. While at Wyndham, he oversaw the consolidation of multiple Property Management Systems and Central Reservation Systems into the industry’s first Single Image Reservation System. His background with Wyndham also includes over 7 years’ experience as a Hotel General Manager.
Steve holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the North Texas Chapter of HFTP (Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals) and several industry Client Advisory Boards. In his free time, he enjoys hitting the open road and exploring the country by motorcycle.
